The NCA 11th grade team competed in a 4-day College viewing tournament in San Diego, CA, July 28-31.  The team competed in the All-Star category which had two brackets of 24 teams that would eventually converge to determine an overall winner.  As they did in the previous viewing tournament in Rocklin the team continued to play great team defense, winning games one and two by double digits.  In game three the team faced a very talented NW Blazers team that consisted of players from Idaho, Washington and Oregon.  Unable to overcome a poor shooting performance the team lost by 10.  In game four the team more than made up for their lack of offense in game three by hitting 18 three pointers and defeating the Colorado Hoopsters 75-49.  On day four and the final day the team was playing for 4^th place.  Down by 10 with less than 5 minutes to go in the game the team put on an amazing rally to send the game into overtime.  In the two minute overtime the team scored first on a three point shot but could not score again and lost by 4.

We want to congratulate the NCA 11^th grade team for their 9^th overall finish in a field of 48 teams.  We are proud of your accomplishments as you represented your area and our first year club extremely well.  Many words of praise regarding your individual and team performances were echoed by opposing coaches and the college coaches in attendance.
